About Errata
Errata is a shared, structured record of errors in academic books, starting with mathematics. Each book has editions; each reported issue has an exact location, a discussion written in LaTeX, and a status that reflects what is actually known.
Publisher errata lists are scattered, incomplete, and rarely say why something is wrong. Discussions on forums are hard to find again. Here, the report, the investigation, the verdict and the edition in which it was fixed live in one place.
The guiding principle is to preserve uncertainty: one reader’s suspicion is not presented as a fact. See how statuses work.
Authors and publishers are welcome. A verified account can confirm or respond to reports on its own books — get in touch with the moderators to be verified.
